Everyone is invited to an Edible Gardening Workshop on Sunday 30th June at 2pm, at the Castlegate Community Garden bed (just next to the War Memorial). The workshop coincides with Berwick Open Gardens, so once you've seen a few gardens do pop over to us, especially if you have kids with you! The event is completely FREE and you can plant some seeds to grow at home, make a natural plant label, and learn about what grows in our edible beds.
Greener Berwick's action group Growing Communities is leading a food-growing movement in our town! They have been turning unused and overgrown flower beds in Berwick into new community garden patches, growing food and medicine and increasing biodiversity. All these beds are for community use, which means you can help tend, plant, water... as well as harvest and eat...the plants! Anyone can pick a strawberry or some mint from the Castlegate bed by the War Memorial, or a handful of marjoram and a stick of rosemary from the Foul Ford medicinal beds off Silver Street, they are there for everyone to enjoy or get involved with. If you'd like to start growing with us, send us a message on info@greenerberwick.org.uk
